The Quick Start Guide has been created to help cisgender (non-transgender) people understand some basic information about what it means when someone says they are “transgender.” It is a complex subject and there is a tremendous amount of misinformation floating about.
As with any “Quick Start Guide,” it doesn’t tell you everything there is to know, but it should get you past some of the common misconceptions and prepare you to communicate with your transgender acquaintance in a polite manner.
